1. Technical principle

t-MALDI enters the laser from the back of the sample, reducing surface charge accumulation and improving ion yield; MALDI-2 adds a second laser in the desorption plume to trigger post-ionization of neutral molecules escaping in conventional MALDI, thereby improving detection and spatial coverage of low-abundance molecules such as lipids and metabolites.
